Alterface Wins again

You know those kinda strange Alterface boys. The ones designing the 5D
Haunted Attraction? They must be doing something right! Check this out:
From 17 to 20 November 2009, the IAAPA (International
Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions) Attractions Expo took
place at the Las Vegas Convention Center, USA. For the first time ever,
the world's biggest event in this sector was held in the capital of
gambling and entertainment.

Alterface received an honorable mention there in the 'Major Theme /
Amusement Park Ride / Attraction - 2009 Best New Product' category for
the excellence of its interactive technology. This is the second-most
important award on offer in this industry at a global level.

The award is the second in a row won by Alterface at an IAAPA Expo,
following the 'Impact Award' received in 2008 in Orlando, Florida.
It also follows the 'Golden Pony Award 2009' given to Alterface's
interactive theaters, which were praised by the Italian press as a
'major innovation'.

All Ladies Horror Film Festival coming to an end....submit now!

The 2009 submission phase is coming to an end for the Viscera Film Festival, a Chainsaw Mafia sponsored horror film fest for female filmmakers. Viscera works with Sponsors around the globe to advertise and promote the selected filmmakers' work.
Since 2007, over 25 filmmakers have been chosen to be represented by
Viscera, which was founded by Festival Director Shannon Lark.

Benefits
from the Festival include a compilation DVD which is viewed by
Sponsoring Film Festivals magazines, and websites for potential
screenings/reviews from the United States to Australia. Each filmmaker
receives a Viscera Statue and all-female productions have the
opportunity to receive the Viscera Award, a monetary award to
congratulate women coming together to create instead of cat fighting
and talking about hairspray.

The Viscera Film Festival will
have its first screening in the Spring of 2010 in Los Angeles,
celebrating Viscera's 2009, 2008, and 2007's selections, accompanied
with an award ceremony.

For those ladies who are interested in submitting but don't know where to start, The Chainsaw Mafia suggests they contact Shannon Lark with any questions.
Haunted House Conventions Merge

The National Halloween, Horror, Haunted House and Hearse Convention (N.H4.C) and Canadian Haunters
Convention (CHC) made an historic announcement today regarding a partnership
forged between the two groups that they say will change the landscape of the
haunting scene in North America in 2010 and beyond.

"In order to remain
competitive, innovative, and cutting edge, Haunters Conventions can no
longer be considered regional in an ever changing business landscape" stated
Rob Kocher of the N.H4.C. "We have to consider economies of scale, as well as
realize that the big boys in the supplier trades have already adapted their
businesses to be International in scope".

In an effort to become
leaders in the convention industry, both N.H4.C. and CHC realized that they had
to work together, instead of thinking of one another as the competition.
"Conventions of this nature need to be considered entertainment venues"
commented Matthew Flagler, founder of the CHC. "Haunters have demonstrated
time and again that they're devoted to haunting entertainment in all its
forms, in the same way that a true football fanatic travels the continent in
a motor home, attending the tail-gate parties, and taking in numerous
    spectacular events annually!" Flagler concluded.

Both conventions are slated for the Northeast
American continent and each is expected to draw attendees from throughout
the region, across the nation and around the world. The N.H4.C. event is being
held April 29th - May 2nd, 2010 at the Valley Forge Convention Center in
King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. CHC's convention is May 7th - 9th, 2010 in
St. Catharine's, Ontario, Canada at the Parkway Convention Centre, in the
    Heart of the Niagara Region.

Ghost Adventures - New Ep

This one just seems MEH to me. What do you think?

Many
say that Remington Arms is cursed from the hundreds of thousands that
have died as a result of the products manufactured there. If that
weren't enough, there were dozens of accidental deaths and murders
inside the factory.

There is one story about two men who fell into the lead
smelting pots within the factory. As they fell into the molten lead,
they were instantly killed. There is a theory that when you experience
such a quick tragic death your spirit can't leave that place. The guys
decide to leave a static camera in this location and you won't believe
what they find.

Before the investigation even gets started, the guys
feel unwelcome. While they are walking around in the middle of the day
they hear unexplained hammering around the building, their camera
lights stop working and they hear voices. The spirits were letting
Zak, Nick, and Aaron know that they are in for an interesting night.

Haunted Attraction Reviews - Dracula's Shock Walk?

Editor's Note: Seriously? Who named it this?

Dracula's Forest Shock Walk

This may well be one of the most horrifying attractions in all of Pennsylvania. If you go, beware that it's short--you'll be in and out within 10 minutes--and it's not the typical gory attraction. The shock walk is put together with the help of animatronics and some truly impressive light and sound effects that work beautifully.

The actors are very good at what they do and will scare the living daylights out of you without ever laying a finger on you. For the biggest scare factor, don't go in right after another group--they'll get all the prime scares that are meant for you, and you won't get any surprises. Wait a few moments until there's nobody ahead of you, then pop in.

Info: The Shock Walk is $7 a person and is at 2828 Rock Drive, Clarks Summit, PA 18411.

Haunted Attraction Reviews - Dracula's Castle?

Also at Dracula's Forest is the haunted hayride, an attraction for the more faint of heart. If you scare easily, you should be able to go on the hayride and still make it out alive, but avoid the shock walk. The hayride is also a nice value for your money, at $15--it may seem like a lot, but similar to the corn maze at Miller's Orchard, it keeps you scared for a good long time.

You'll be piled into the ride with a lot of people you don't know, so try to cordon off a little area for you and your friends so that you can all shriek in harmony. The hayride may not be the most terrifying thing out there, but it is a lot of fun, and some parts are truly scary, so don't go in thinking that it's going to be a walk in the park. Enjoy!

Info: The Haunted Hayride is at the same location as the Shock Walk, at 2828 Rock Drive, Clarks Summit, PA 18411.
