Austin, TX (PRWEB) August 26, 2008 -- The Mansion of Terror Haunted House returns for it's 5th season this Sept 19th in North Austin. Even though The Mansion of Terror was rated American's scariest Haunted House by Lionsgate Films, the cast and crew are not sitting back and resting on their laurels. Instead they are actively getting the Central Texas community involved in building and operating the Haunted House.
"Each year we employ over 70 plus local Austin actors, make up artists, carpenters and construction people to help build our Haunted House. It's this local feel that keeps people coming back year after year" says owner Norm Glenn. The Mansion of Terror folks also love to give back to the Austin Community by partnering with local charities.
We
are in talks right now with several local Austin charities. There is no
sense in running a business here in Austin if you can't give back to
the people who need it in our local community

The cast and crew have been busy this year creating two unique Haunted Houses inside the main Haunted House. One is called Slaughter Circus and features a truly twisted take on an 1800's Sideshow and Circus. Complete with claustrophobic passageways, things that go bump in the night and more. But don't worry their tagline is "Absolutely No Clowns". The second Haunted House is called Blood Frenzy and takes the claustrophobic environments and chaos a step further. However the cast and crew are holding the details close to their chests and not revealing any details at this time.
The Mansion of Terror and it's two Haunted Houses open to the public on Sept 19th at a cost of $18.00 for visiting both Houses. There is also a coupon available at all local Goodwill and Halloween Express locations. Lark Slaughters Spooksmodel Competition
Fangoria's Weekend of Horrors 2008
As twilight slowly withered away the light of a Los Angeles Sunday, life still whispered within the body of the 2008 Fangoria Weekend of Horrors. Fans daydreaming eager visions of macabre beauty, harvested into the main ballroom of the Los Angeles Convention Center to witness the first ever Fangoria Spooksmodel contest.
Upon the stage, beauty embodied within an octonary of female flesh to stand before judge and jury. Each of the eight contestants endeavored to prove worthiness of wearing the crown of Fangoria Spooksmodel. One by one each answered questions, modeled a pose or two, and performed a one minute routine before a jury consisting of Ken Foree, John Gulagar, and Tony Timpone. Lest we forget an eager audience of horror fanatics surrounded by female flesh on its best, and sometimes erotic, behavior!
The eight contestants performed to the best of their abilities, demonstrating that each were well deserved to grace the Fangoria stage. Yet with all challenges, only one may walk away victorious. That one winner, clothed in scarlet dress and wielding a chainsaw, was Shannon Lark.
Yes, it appears to be true. There have been rumors floating around for some time that Hollywood Uber-director Steven Spielberg has been working on a social networking site dedicated to the paranormal and supernatural. Everything from ghosts to UFOs are apparently topics of discussion.Apparently Techcrunch has confirmed that this project will launch in the next few months. Let's keep our fingers crossed!
According to the website:
"Spielberg has apparently had at least one paranormal experience himself. There are stories of him staying in a hotel called Excelsior House and being so frightened by ghosts that he fled the room and moved 20 miles away. We've also heard anecdotes about Spielberg seeing the ghost of a dead relative repeatedly as a child. Whether based in reality or the product of an exceptional imagination, these experiences may have had an impact on his life's work and this upcoming social network."
