When her twentieth wedding anniversary was approaching, Sue Davis of Vienna, Ohio, knew that she wanted to renew her wedding vows and exactly where she wanted to do it; the Haunted Mansion at Knoebels Amusement Resort in Elysburg, PA

Sue Davis and her husband, Rick are two of the three founders of the Darkride and Funhouse Enthusiasts (DAFE), an organization devoted to the appreciation of "dark attractions," so this came as no surprise to those that know the couple. Sue said "After seeing some of the fun things that couples have done for their weddings, I wished that Rick and I would have thought of it. Of course we couldn't go back in time, but we could do something special and unusual for our twentieth anniversary."

Since weddings on rollercoasters have become rather old-hat, Sue and Rick decided that they should renew their vows at one of their favorite "darkrides" the Haunted Mansion at Knoebels Amusement Resort.

They didn't have to search far for a minister willing to do it, their friend and fellow amusement park enthusiast, the Reverend Cliff Herring had married more than 50 couples on rollercoasters. A haunted house wedding however, was something new so he jumped at the chance to preside.

The couple and their entourage dressed befitting their surroundings during the park's Halloween event, Phoenix Phall Phunfest, October 4th. Sue was in a gothic vampire dress, Rick was costumed as a Victorian undertaker and the wedding party was outfitted as vampires.

Hundreds of park guests lined the midway to watch the ceremony.

Following the ceremony the wedding party boarded ride cars for a trip in the dark through the amusement ride before being whisked away in their "limousine", a classic 1970 Cadillac hearse.

Rick remarked, "The secret to a long marriage is never taking yourselves too seriously; you have to keep things interesting and do the unexpected once in a while."

"The Nightmare before Christmas". What can I say. This is simply the best Halloween musical ever made. It's also the best Christmas movie ever made. The reasons for this are countless. The main reason is it combines the genius of Tim Burton along with everyone's favorite two Holidays. It's something that not only kids will love but
people in their twenties, thirties, and more will enjoy as well. I really have not met anyone who doesn't enjoy
"The Nightmare before Christmas".

DVD

If you have been living under a rock the film is about Jack Skellington, who is the Pumpkin King of Halloween Town. Bored of Halloween he finds out about Christmas and decides to do his own Christmas. But his merry mission puts Santa gets Santa in trouble and creates a nightmare for all the good boys and girls.

This is basically the ultimate "Nightmare Before Christmas" DVD. In this amazing DVD you get three DVD's containing everything from a Digital Copy for your iPod to the original remastered film. The extras are some of the best I have ever seen. Including:

What's This? Jack's Haunted Mansion Holiday Tour from Disneyland (yes they re-do the Haunted Mansion for Christmas! aka An Amazing Dark Ride)
Frankenweenie (Uncut Version) with intro by Tim Burton
Vincent
Tim Burton's original Poem
All new audio commentary
Behind The Scenes : Making Of
The Worlds of Tim Burton Art
Deleted Scenes
Storyboard to Film
Original Theatrical Trailer and Posters

Basically this is one of my favorite films totally packed with a ton of Behind The Scenes. Think
Tim Burton animation film school in a box.

I give this one a solid A+. Go out and buy it today.

Help a Fellow Reader out

Hey all. Can any of our faithful readers help this fella out? Here is his question. Leave your answer in the comments box:

Hello. Back in the late 70s/early 80s I remember seeing a short film at the boardwalk in Ocean City, NJ that I believe was part of a dark ride attraction (there were a number of these on the boardwalk including one called Ghost Creek Cavern and another that, I think, was called King Tut's Tomb). I don't remember the name, but it was about 15 minutes long and I don't think it had any dialogue. I remember that the movie featured scenes of an out-of-control roller coaster, filmed as if you were sitting in the coaster. It also featured various monsters/evil creatures meancing teenagers. I recall one scene in what was either a torture chamber or mad-scientist type lab where one of the creatures gets its leg chopped off. I realize this information is very vague, but these are memories from over 20 years ago. For some reason this has been on my mind and bugging me, and I'd just like to find out anything about this movie, and I thought maybe you might be able to help. Thanks.
