I'm not a big sequel fan.  Even less of one when I haven't seen the first movie.  But in this case I wish I had.  This movie was pretty good on it's own, once you figure out what the store is about.

I'm assuming that in the first movie something happened through the computer to make people want to kill themselves.  Pulse 2 takes that to the next level - allowing the dead to transmit themselves to (and through) computers to feast on the living.

These ghosts travel via wi-fi into computers and then use the computer as a kind of portal allowing them to enter the "real" world to kill others.

The movie starts kinda like a dream sequence (At least to me, unfamiliar with the first movie it seemed like a dream sequence).  A guy dresses himself all in red to venture outside of his red apartment.  We later find out that red somehow inhibits the evil spirits from interacting with people.  We don't know why he's out of the safety of his apartment but while he's out we see, through his eyes, on of the evil spirits praying on a human.

The story then changes to pick up where the first movie left off presumably.  It is here we learn how a woman tried to kill herself and perhaps her young daughter.  We don't learn until later that she did in fact kill herself and is now one of these evil spirits.

There are many good parts to this movie - the filmography gives you this dreamlike quality I mentioned above, and the story has so many twists (if you haven't seen the first movie) that it leaves you guessing what's going to happen next.

The only part of the movie I wished we could have had more details on (perhaps in a third movie?) is the guy who dressed himself in red.

You see part way through the movie we meet him again as he hooks up briefly with the movie's protagonist.  The guy has him go into an electronics warehouse to find a special chip which will somehow combat the evil spirits.  But it kinda ends there - he gets a chip and gets dropped off and we don't see him again.  I find this part of the movie a bit of unfinished business.

Aside from that though, it's a really good movie.  Now if I can only find the first movie to help fill in some of the gaps....
