DVD Review - The Triloquist
One look at the cover and you wonder what kind of movie you are getting yourself into.
And to be fair, this is more along the lines of Undead or Alive, and less like a "scare you silly" horror movie.
The movie is about, as the cover says, a doll and a dummy. And throughout the movie you have to wonder which is which.
Let me put it another way: This movie is a cross between Clueless and Chucky. It's about a girl and her brother and a ventriloquist dummy and their plans to move to Las Vegas to become the latest and greatest ventriloquist act.
Along the way they cross paths with, and generally murder, a lot of people including police and even a former TV star (I won't tell you who - you'll have to watch the movie to find out.

Overall it wasn't a bad movie. There were some good production values found within the movie. The acting wasn't too bad either. The script might have been a little weak, and the story a bit of a stretch at times, but overall it wasn't a terrible movie.
In the end you don't really know for sure if the dummy could do things on it's own, or whether it was the sister or brother which controlled it so perhaps there's an opening for a sequel? But who knows.
So if you are looking for something to pass the time that isnt' too scary, has a cute lead actress and a wise cracking dummy, why not check out the Triloquist?
