Let me start by saying this is a great movie!  It kinda rolls a bunch of movies into one and spits out a non-stop actionfest.  Think 28 Days Later/I Am Legend crossed with Mad Max, crossed with Underworld.

In the movie, a lethal virus begins spreading throughout Scotland.  In order to avoid an international epidemic a giant wall is erected to separate (and quarantine) Scotland from the rest of the world.  Anyone caught inside the wall before the gates are closed are stuck there.

The rest of the world assumes that the virus is fatal to all and therefore assume that Scotland has become a wasteland.

A few years later the virus rears its head within England. Without a cure the government determines that there must be an antidote on the other side of the wall because their satellites have noticed that there are indeed survivors.  Up until now this is the 28 Days/I am Legend part.

A team, led by Major Eden Sinclair (played by Rhona Mitra, whose character reminds me of Kate Beckinsale of Underworld) is dispatched to find and return the antidote.

You see, without contact inside the wall everyone assumes a scientist, played by Malcolm McDowell (who was left inside the quarantine zone) has found a cure.

Upon entering Scotland we quickly learn that society has degenerated to something similar to Mad Max's world.  There's even a cool car chase scene at the end of the movie with vehicles reminiscent of the Mad Max series.

About my only problem with the movie was that they killed off the character "Viper" early on in the movie.  Too bad cause I thought she could have really been a presence throught the show.

Now, I don't want to give away the whole movie, but if you are a fan of any of the movies I've mentioned here, then you definitely want to check this movie out.  It hits store shelves on Tuesday, July 29.

I give it an A
