DVD Review - Automaton Transfusion
I'm a big fan of Zombie movies. There's something about them that is far out, yet somehow believable at the same time.So when I got this one I thought "great!"
So I started watching it and you know what? I wasn't dissappointed.
Let me rephrase that, I wasn't dissappointed until the end. But before I explain why, let me tell you a bit about this movie.
It's about zombies, as you may have guessed, but these aren't your typical zombies. These ones can move - fast. They can run and jump. Something you don't normally see in zombie movies. They can also think and seem to have a pack mentality. They don't wander around mindlessly like you see in a lot of zombie movies, these zombies have stealth and an ability to coordinate themselves.
In the movie we are introduced to a group of high school students. Some of whom survive while some do not.
The students that do survive learn that the zombies weren't natural, but in fact created by the government as an alternative to sending soldiers into battle. I know, not the most original idea, but it works for this movie.
I think the thing that really surprised me about this movie is that the box says its an independant film. Really? Independant with this quality?
It's not your typical indie film. You know the one I'm talking about - Blair Witch. It's nothing like that. It's more along the lines of a commercial "Dawn of the Dead" type zombie movie.
Now for the dissappointing part - "TO BE CONTINUED." That's what it said at the end of the movie! Damn, and I was just getting into it too!
Guess I'll have to wait for the sequel. but in the mean time, check out these stills from the movie:
