Horror reflects who we are...

Just read this great article about the horror film "The Host" (see trailer below). It delves deep into why monster movies/horror movies actually reflect back on what is happening in our society. Now hang on with me for a moment. Think about it. How was Godzilla created/awoken from his hibernation in the Godzilla films? It was because of the Hiroshima nuclear blast that happened to end WWII.

The Godzilla films (and Godzilla himself) were an outcry on what the US had done to Japan and how man was changing our environment. It was also a social commentary on how man is creating things that can cause the planet to turn on us. (Think global warming and Hurricane Katrina). The author of this article delves into that and more surrounding the new horror film "The Host". Check it out over at Wired online. I think you will enjoy.
