Hello to all

Since this is my first official posting to the blog I’ll start off with a little introduction. I’m Psychoterror and have been involved in Halloween haunting for about 24 years. All my work up to now has been involved working fundraisers with non-profit groups. I started out as a worker in them and having control over my room design and ideas. For the past five years I have helped with the total layout, design, building and marketing ideas. While I primarily come up with the ideas and let them do the work on the haunt, I do the props. I usually work with different groups each year and the haunts vary from indoors to outdoors, for this reason I mostly build static props and use latex for all my prop skins.

Over the past several years I have became more involved in prop making and have started doing my own head molds for my props, doing lifecasting and working some with pneumatics. Some of my props can be seen here http://webpages.charter.net/psychoterror/main/ I use a very simple and creepy head design so I can add details like cuts, scars and horns after I remove them from the molds, this way I don’t end up with a bunch of identical mask in a haunt. I haven’t put up photos of my newest head yet. I went a step further and designed it with a plain open mouth so I can add different type teeth. I have also come up with a way to do the corpsing technique inside the mold before pouring in the latex.

This a very cool effect also, I’ll have to get some photos of it up also
I’m also a certified Fire Marshal and have been for the past 7 years. The way the codes are written the interpretations of them will vary from each jurisdiction, while I won’t be able to give a concrete answer for your questions, I can give you a general idea of what the Fire Marshals will be looking for. I also have experience doing photo work for newspapers and magazines and video work for television and as one of the editors for our state’s quarterly newsletter for Fire Investigators. I’m currently trying to get some people together to try my hand at doing and independent horror film. I must say that I lost all insanity a few weeks ago by deciding to become a political candidate, so some of my post may be a little small the next few weeks. I now realize this is a true haunters experience and Halloween has come early for me.

I’m new to this blog stuff so you’ll have to give me a little time to get use to it. I guess you figured out I was a newbie though, from last weeks post. I saw the post about wanting forum sites and didn’t realize until after I posted the sites that comments could be added. After I found the comment section I then realized about every site I put up was already posted in the comments, boy did I ever feel stupid after doing that. One note about the Methodz of Madness forum, it’s currently going through some changes to get back to the way is use to be and I don’t thank they are accepting new members at this time.

If there’s anything particular you would like discussing just let me know.
Take care and I will see you all next Thursday.
Psychoterror
