March 10-13 marks Transworld’s 11th Haunted Attraction Show in Rosemont, Ill. at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center. For most of us haunters this is the must attend show of the year where everyone from costume makers to corpse builders get together and showcase the new items for the year. The Haunted Attractions Show is a haunter's extravaganza that takes up over 60,000 sq. ft. and has something for everyone, from the smallest haunter to the haunt industry's biggest attractions. To take a direct quote from their website:

TWE's Haunted Attractions Show is THE place to:
• Find the latest products, designers, services and trends
• Compare suppliers and negotiate prices
• Attend seminars and learn money-making tips from the pros
• Network with colleagues and enjoy Chicago's nightlife

I have attend this show quite a bit in the past and let me tell you the site is right…this is THE place to be if you are a professional in the haunted attraction industry. Personally the contacts and networking I have done at Transworld alone has paid off time and time again! This year they have added even more special events to make the show an even bigger success.

With the pre-show actually beginning on the 8th, Transworld offers not only a place to pick up the latest goodies and fest your eyes on the newest yet horrific items that you can only afford in your dreams, there are industry professionals constantly putting on seminars to help improve your haunt in ways you didn’t even think possible. If you own a haunted attraction or are serious about this business these are my recommendations on the workshops and seminars you should attend:

As you can see from make-up to business strategies these seminars offer it all. The most exciting event I personally think will be this…

HAUNTER'S COMPETITIONS AND MORE! (direct from hauntedshow.com)
HAUNTER'S COMPETITIONS AND MORE AT THE ALL NEW TW HAUNTER'S PAVILION.... CHECK IT OUT!

Every haunt thinks they do the best make-up, they have the best costumes, they have the best backdrop artists, they have the best t-shirts, they have the best flyers, tickets, posters, etc... well now you have the chance to put your money where your mouth is and have the opportunity to receive National Recognition Awards in the process! What an exciting title to use when promoting your venue in the fall... "Home of the 2006 TransWorld Haunted Attraction Show National Award winning make-up artist", "2006 TransWorld Haunted Attraction Show Nationally recognized marketing campaign winner", "Voted BEST T-Shirt design at the 2006 National Halloween Convention"... the ways you can use these titles are endless here folks!

I encourage ALL haunts to participate in these events, sponsor your best make-up artist or painter, enter your photographs, marketing tools, etc... This is a golden opportunity to have some competitive fun and shine for your peers! TransWorld is raising the bar this year for YOU and offering these activities and events. Please support their efforts this year so that bigger and more exciting contests and competitions can be set in place next year!

Awards given will include professionally designed one of a kind plaques and ribbons and Saturday's make-up contest is offering a grand prize of a $2,500 cruise package to the winners!

All the information on the contests and competitions as well as official entry forms with complete rules and waivers can be found by visiting TransWorldSocialEvents.com!

You've heard the buzz... now participate, get involved and be a doer that does not a watcher that wishes he was!!!!

As you can see Transworld has it all and this year as a haunter you must make plans to attend even at this point which seems like short notice.
